1982 Draft Review
Ugh-ie
I did another draft review, this time from early in Pat Gillick’s tenure with his second-hand the soon-to-be boss of Toys R Us in Canada. It was the draft where the Blue Jays picked David Wells and Jimmy Key but were unable to select any substance with the second overall pick in the draft.
“He’s a very mature kid with a good make-up,” said scouting supervisor Bob Engle of Augie Schmidt. “He has good baseball instincts.” Couldn’t overcome his LOFT.
